The CollegeInvest Early Achievers Scholarship (
La Beca Para Jóvenes Exitosos De CollegeInvest — Solicitar la beca durante el transcurso del 7vo, 8vo ó 9no grado) is now being offered to middle school and early high school students who commit to taking pre-collegiate coursework. The scholarship encourages students to begin planning for college early and provides financial support for high-need students who are academically prepared for higher education.
Be sure to read about the
requirements for this scholarship — students who meet all of the CollegeInvest Early Achievers Scholarship requirements will qualify for up to $1,500 per year to help fill the gap in college financing.
In addition to other criteria, to be eligible, a student must be a legal Colorado resident and
apply during 7th, 8th or 9th grade.
Deadlines for Application
- For 9th graders during the 2007-2008 school year: June 1, 2008
- For 8th graders during the 2007-2008 school year: June 1, 2009
- For 7th graders during the 2007-2008 school year: June 1, 2010

Scholarship Requirements
The following requirements must be completed by the time the student graduates from high school:
Upon graduation from high school, the student must:
- Be a legal Colorado resident and qualify for in-state resident tuition.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and be eligible for a Pell Grant (family income currently approximately $40,000 or less for a family of four).
- Apply for a
College Opportunity Fund stipend and attend a college or university that accepts this stipend, or attend a Colorado junior college that is part of a junior college district, or attend a Colorado vocational school earning postsecondary credits that are transferable to a degree program at a two-year or four-year institution of higher education.
- Meet admission standards for first-time entering students at the college or university at which he or she enrolls.
- Attend college within three years of high school graduation.
Students will be disqualified from participation in the CollegeInvest Early Achievers Scholarship if they are expelled from high school.
